We all lived in the same village. My daughter went to school with Richard's brother. Richard's Mum has the village hair dressers. Richard heads up the village drama group and the annual panto (in which I like to dress up as a man or a villain, or both), his lovely family and Robyn are involved in the Panto too. Richard and Robyn are both talented musicians and perform locally. Robyn sews the most beautiful things, including pretty coats for my dog! So yes, we know each other pretty well and I was absolutely delighted when they asked me to be their wedding photographer! For Richard and Robyn's Pre Wedding session I wanted to keep it local. We agreed on the iconic Viaduct as the perfect backdrop! We had rain, wind, mud and some sunshine too, it was fun.....

Richard and Robyn get married in July at The Chevin Country Park Hotel, there is going to be a music festival vibe with lots of their friends taking part. I can't wait to see everyone!!!!

Anita Dans is a local burlesque performer who was supported in her totally bonkers idea by Bradford 2025 and Unlimited who commission extraordinary work from disabled artists. 

We used the Penny Arcade within Woodbank Garden Centre in Harden as our absolutely perfect location! We had an hour to capture this and I think we nailed it.

Anita debuts this costume on Saturday 13th April at The Star Spangled Caberet in Sheffield and you can also catch her at Salt & Shake in Saltaire in May (I'll see you there)!

Chris & Sam loved the idea of a pre wedding session, they both felt it would be useful as, like me, they are not fans of having their photo taken.

We grabbed this opportunity for a pleasant walk around Saltaire village and near by Roberts park. The weather was a little overcast but Sam's red coat and matching lippy were a welcome pop of colour on this Spring day!  Chris & Sam were up for all my suggestions, even slow dancing on the bandstand and braving the mud for some pics by the colourful grafitti! Well before the end of the session they had both totally relaxed into it!

They deserved the most amazing wedding day and they got it! Married at Stirk House on December 27th, it was a wonderful sparkly wedding full of love and laughter. Surrounded by family and friends, Jacob & Olivia had the wedding of their dreams, complete with snow confetti. Did it matter that it rained all day and all night? No, of course not, this lovely couple could not have been happier. Olivia's dress was stunning, nothing like I have ever seen before....she wore her cowboy boots with it later in the evening! I do love a bride who owns her style on her wedding day! Jacob's sister made the elegant wedding cake and his brother brought his band for the evening entertainment.

Adam and Sarah got married at Haworth church and their reception was at the Old School Rooms, just across the cobbles. Adam and Sarah met at school but it was several years later before the couple were reunited and a romance blossomed. Adam proposed to Sarah while he was dressed as Henry VIII and she was dressed as Anne Boleyn! Their wedding ceremony was carried out by the new Rector, Rev. Oli, who made everyone feel very welcome. After the ceremony we paused for photos on the church steps and then Adam and Sarah took off for a quick spin in a stunning white Thunderbird. The rain showers stopped as they drove off, so the convertible top was taken advantage of.  Once back in the pretty village, we took some time for their Bride and Groom pictures. Adam and Sarah were then welcomed by their guests into the Old School Rooms, I dont think that room has ever looked more beautiful! Sarah had chosen a theme and a colour scheme that complimented the historic rooms perfectly. Their wedding cake had a secret, little nod to their beloved dog, Frankie....!

This wedding was just wonderful and it was so good to be back at Victoria Hall in Saltaire.

Leah had not one but two Heirloom gowns. The first dress was Phil's Grandmothers and the second was the dress her own mother got married in!  The couple actually had two ceremonies as well; the first was a Handfasting ceremony performed by Leah's Auntie and then later on they had their legal ceremony.

Leah was giving me vintage Hollywood Starlet vibes all day, she looked incredible! Her handsome Groom wore a suit hand-tailored from a bolt of fabric belonging to his Grandfather!

The couple had turned one of the rooms at Victoria Hall into a retro gaming room, with Pac Man, Pong and Street Fighter. At the Pie and Peas Wedding Breakfast, Phil & Leah surprised their guests by emerging through the floor of the stage with the Wurlitzer Organ....Genius!!!

Yes it pretty much rained all day but when it stopped later in the evening, the newly weds and I took to the darkened streets of this World Heritage village to capture their Bride and Groom portraits. Wet cobbles and moody street lighting made for some wonderful atmospheric captures, with more than a nod to the romance of old-school film photography. Phil's amazing Grooms Man, also let us use his car headlights to try something a bit different ......thank you for stepping out of your comfort zone, bringing your own ideas and totally embracing this opportunity!!
